Bordeaux in So Cal
Imagine sipping a glass of wine that tastes like it was crafted in the heart of France, but you're actually standing in a California vineyard. That's the experience Voux Wines offers and is on a mission to bring the classic Bordeaux style to the Golden State. With every sip, you can taste the passion and dedication of founder and winemaker Chad Hughes, a local who received certificates in viticulture and enology from Mt. San Jacinto College in 2017 while learning vineyard management and the winemaking process from neighboring locals in Temecula Valley AVA (American Viticulture Area).
During our visit, we had a chance to sample a 4 course pairing of Voux Wines and specialty culinary creations with flavors truly complementing each varietal and offering a memorable experience for the pallet of connoisseurs and beginners alike:
Course 1: 2023 Cabernet Franc X Spicy Italian sausage in a roasted pepper marinara
Course 2: 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon X Grilled Italian chicken and goat cheese orzo with roasted red peppers and summer squash
Course 3: 2022 Petite Sirah extended aging 24 months X Shredded beef slider with caramelized onions and horseradish cream sauce
Course 4: 2023 LIORA Brut Sparkling X Apple pie bit with homemade caramel
From monitoring soil health, sun light and rain through the processing stages and culminating in the highest quality fruit, Voux Wines places a heavy focus on the ecological integrity of their varietals from beginning to the end with a minimum of 12 years aging in new French Oak barrels. The emphasis on each aspect of the grape growing, harvesting and wine making is significant in distinguishing Voux Wines as a unique gem in Temecula Valley Wine Country for red wine.

The overall event was a complete sensory experience with an atmosphere of local community combined with hints of family and friends enjoying the Voux House - a special club membership option for lovers of vines and exclusive accommodation's that are not available to the public. The barrel tasting event also featured a live musical performance by a Temecula Wine Country favorite Lex Borja who jammed into the night in acoustic elegance, contributing to a vibe where you can relax, enjoy good company, and of course, some amazing wine.
Voux Wines and the team behind production to pouring is generating more than just a glass of wine, they're carving out a unique space in the Temecula Valley wine region by dedicating their craft to a fusion between a specialized technique of the Old World and a climate of innovation in the New World. Winemaker Chad's dedication to quality shines through in every step of the process. It's this commitment to French tradition infused with that Californian joie-de-vivre that sets Voux Wines apart and makes them ones to watch. We highly recommend stopping by for a tasting and seeing what all the buzz is about.
